Good article Dan. My wife and I left the institutional church for many of the same reasons. We realized something was wrong, and we were not satisfied with going to a building, sitting for an hour listening to another person do all the talking, and going home until next week. There is certainly more to God than that. We have found a more meaningful walk with God on a daily basis and more meaningful fellowship with others since leaving the institution. Thanks for your article. I think telling others about leaving church/religion is a help and encouragement to others who are questioning and feeling something is not right.
