I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in high school. So, from 1972 until 1977 I set myself toward that goal and graduated from college with a teaching certificate in 1978. I landed my first teaching job in Omaha, Nebraska at North High School in January 1979. That started a 30-year career in the classroom.
