Let’s just get straight to it: I am asking you to take action!
White Christian Nationalism is trying to take over this country. I’ve been writing about it for a long time. And they’re not even subtle about it anymore. They’re banning books, attacking queer folks, silencing Black voices, and doing it all in Jesus’ name.
So… Keith Giles & Matthew Distefano (good friends of mine and owners of Quoir Publishing) built The Quollective to counter this rising unChristian movement.
What is the Quollective?
It’s a digital resistance hub. A library. A business directory. A storytelling platform. A giant middle finger to Christo-fascism wrapped in essays, satire, theology, art, and truth.
The site’s already live — but we want to take it further. As a contributor and writer for this platform of resistance, I am inviting you to be part of building this movement from the ground up.
With your help, we’re gonna:
Build an ethical AI tool that only learns from creators who opt in
Expand our directory of Black- and Queer-owned businesses
Advertise so more folks can find this space
And pay our team and contributors above the garbage rates most creatives are stuck with
This is about building a platform for the people who are grinding, resisting, creating, and telling the truth.
I rarely send out appeals for subscriptions or money, even for my own substack, but this one is something that you will want to consider. Together I think we can make an impact and pushback on the not-so-subtle movement of Christian Nationalism.
Everyone who contributes gets a free year-long subscription.
At $50, you get free digital books.
At $100, you get even more — paperbacks, a Zoom with Matthew and Keith.
And if you throw down $1,000 or more? We’ll basically do anything short of naming our next kid after you.
(You will find a link to make a contribution at the bottom of this column)
Consider our mission:
We are a collective team of writers, poets, musicians, mystics, and cultural commentators who refuse to let injustice go unchecked.
To build a media platform that belongs to the people—not the powerful.
To defy the powers that seek to silence dissent
To resist fascism
To expose the truth about Project 2025
We do more than publish essays, poetry, and commentary; we equip our community with resources for action, ensuring that our words inspire movement, not just reflection. Our equitable and sustainable model ensures that creators retain ownership of their work and share in the success of our collectiveefforts.Let’s build this thing — together.
Let’s build this thing together.
