Understand one thing about this indictment. When it says the “United States” and “Rights” that means us, all of us. The crimes alledged against Trump are crimes against us, the people. What Trump did to try and steal the 2020 election was a crime against the people of the United States.
We are going to be in that courtroom whenever the trial takes place. We will be in the courtroom today when Trump is arraigned.
Trump thinks it is about him….it isn’t. It is about us.
Donald Trump loves to use grandiose statements about himself to his adoring, mindless, robot followers. He tells them, “I am your revenge” and “I am your retribution.” Of course he is lying.
The real statement is…”I AM YOUR ABUSER” “I AM YOUR TORMENTER.”
For nearly 8 years, Trump has been abusing the American people by lying constantly to us. It is behavior from a gas-lighting domestic abuser. They lie…they blame everyone else for their problems and they never take responsibility. That is Trump, except he has perpetrated this on the whole body politic.
It culminated on January 6, 2021 when he tried to impose a fake elector scheme on the American people, thinking to himself I’m sure, “they are too stupid to see what is going on.” He was abusing the American people.
He tried to get the Vice President to simply declare him the President and ignore the votes of the American people. He has abused and tormented the American people continually both in and out of office.
So here we are over two years after the Jan. 6 debacle where Trump turned loose his pumped up angry white Christian Nationalists against the Capitol. They savagely beat police and threatend Mike Pence and all of Congress. But in reality, Trump had turned this mob loose on the American people…on you and me.
Today he will be arraigned in Federal Court. The charges represent all of us, not in retribution, but for accountability. That is something Trump has never been confronted with in his 77 year silver-spoon filled life. But it also represents a national crisis and moment of truth for the country. All of this drama and trauma has been brought on the American people for one reason, and one reason only.
The only singular reason we, as a nation, are in a position that we are politically and legally today, is because of the tender, snowflake ego that is associatated with Donald Trump.
We now have the first former President of the United States that has been indicted for several conspiracy charges, the chief of which is the conspiracy to defraud the United States. Think of that…a former President is accused of defauding the United States to overturn the results of a legitmate election in 2020. He is being indicted for trying to supress your vote, my vote. His actions are against all of us.
But why? Why are we here?
All of this is in service of Donald Trump’s ego…that is the only reason.
Co-conspirators worked with Trump to created fake electors…to assuage his ego.
We are now going to go through a national crisis of seeing a former president possibly go to jail….because of his immense ego.
The DOJ has had to spend months and millions of taxpayer dollars investigating Trump…because his ego was too big and too fragile to accept defeat in 2020.
We will all now have to see and hear every news cycle with Trump being the central story because…. his ego demands our attention.
Trump has risked the future of American democracy and undermined confidence in the election system…all in the service of his ego.
We have become a divided nation over the lies that Trump told about the 2020 election so that families are fighting, neighbors don’t talk…because of Trump’s oversized ego.
Thousands of Trump’s followers came to Washington because they believed his lie and attacked the Capitol and many are now in jail….all to service Trump’s ego.
Bloggers like me, who hate writing about Donald Trump are now forced too because it is the biggest story in modern US history….because of the bloated and obese ego of one man.
Conservative news outlets peddle disinformation and repeat the Trump talking points day after day…so that they won’t bruise his ego.
The current Republican party is being held hostage, to guess what….Donald’s ego.
Abusers and tormenters have massive egos and little conscience. Sadly, Trump has such a psychological hold on his supporters that they still believe his lies not only about the 2020 election, but about the indictment. “Its a witch hunt” “I’m innocent” “Its the Biden DOJ out to get me” “They have weaponized the justice system”
Too many Republicans are buying the nonsense and the abuse goes on and on. He abuses and torments his own followers as well as the whole nation by heaping lie after lie. They watch the unhinged Rudy Guiliuani raging on about the 1st Amendment like a madman, because he knows he is a co-conspirator…continuing to gas-light Trump’s followers and continuing the lies.
But the solace is these lies cannot be sustained in a courtroom. Lies and false statements have no place in a court of law. Law, evidence, and truth prevail in a courtroom. That is exactly where this case should be. And we will be there.
And make no mistake…you and I are the prosecutors. The American people have been abused and tormented by this man for many years, and it is time for the truth to be told and time for accountability and justice to be applied.
Damn be to Trump’s ego.
